“Oh!” is a creative drawing app developed by Louis Rigaud and Anouck Boisrobert, inspired by their pop-up book “Oh! mon chapeau,” published by hélium in France. The app begins with ten colorful shapes that glide across the screen, transforming with a few strokes of a pen into amusing or poetic illustrations. Users can witness scenes come to life as a tree grows, a cat meows, or a little girl dances.

Players are prompted to reflect on the shapes they encounter—what does a triangle resemble? A race car, a ballet tutu, an old man's raincoat, or perhaps a bird's wing? A brief introduction showcases delightful shapes bouncing out of a hat and aligning along the left side of the screen. Users then drag these shapes into the center to activate animations. For instance, when tapped, a diamond shape can morph such that the roof of a house transforms into a kite. A horizon line divides the screen, offering further creative choices; above, shapes can evolve into houses, airplanes, or Martians, while below they can turn into characters, vehicles, or small dogs.

A concise tutorial reveals various creative possibilities. Users will see their screen fill with animated scenes as creativity takes hold—perhaps incorporating a pink moon, a green sun, colorful house roofs, or even a vibrant forest populated by joyful characters.

A unique surprise awaits when users rotate the tablet; the entire scene shifts to portrait layout. Up and down become left and right, manifesting another lively image accompanied by light music produced by the animated drawings.

Upon completion of their scene, users have the option to capture an image for storage on their device or share it with friends.

The app has seen dedicated development and animation work from Louis Rigaud, who also composed its music, while Anouck Boisrobert contributed the illustrations. The duo devoted two years to this project before distributing it independently. Notably, they have adopted a unique pricing model allowing users to choose what they pay—from €0.99 to €9.99—after a free download.
